Letters, Appeals, and Complaints

Your Legal Doula offers the following services.

R. Marsh Starks / UNLV Photo Services

As discussed in our Services and Pricing page, Your Legal Doula can help with cease and desist or demand letters, drafting a complaint to a State board or other entity, or answering a complaint that someone has filed about you. Below are some examples of these types of projects.

Why Hire Andi?

Andi is not only an experienced lawyer with over eight years as a practicing attorney: Andi approaches the law – as well as pregnancy, birth, and postpartum – from a multi-disciplinary point of view. In working as a teacher, a prosecutor, an attorney for employees injured in workers compensation cases, and as an insurance lawyer, she has learned how various aspects of the law intersect. And especially in complex stages of life like the perinatal period, you need an advocate who has been in your shoes and navigated these same struggles.

Nevada Certification Board Issues

YLD can assist with certified birth doula issues in Nevada.

If you have a birth doula certification through the Nevada Certification Board, and you receive a complaint or other adverse action, we can help you navigate what to do and how to respond.

If you need to pursue filing a complaint about someone who has this certification, we can help with seeing it through.

Doula Payment Demand Letters

If you didn’t have a contract in place to protect the doula-client relationship and clarify payment terms – or even if you did, but the other person defaults – weeks may go by with unresolved payment issues. Before jumping directly to small claims court, it may be helpful to send a letter outlining what you believe is owed and why.

We can help draft a customized letter that can assist in getting you paid.
