Why Hire Andi?
Andi is not only an experienced attorney with over seven years in practice: Andi approaches the law – as well as pregnancy, birth, and postpartum – from an empathic, multi-disciplinary point of view. Andi is, first and foremost, a lifelong feminist and advocate for women’s rights. She brings this focused lens to all work she does in the birth rights space–and, she brings a diverse career history, with experience in multiple industries. In working as a teacher, a prosecutor, an attorney for injured employees, and in insurance defense, she has learned how various aspects of the law intersect and affect one another. And especially in complex stages of life like the perinatal period, a well-rounded advocate is a necessity.
Contracts
Need agreements for your practice? Your Legal Doula can help you draft a one-time contract between yourself and another entity, or we can develop personalized templates you can you on an ongoing basis as client retainers, vendor agreements, etc.
We also offer boilerplate templates for doulas, which you can purchase and use for your small business for a lower cost – no consult needed.

Bylaws and Policies
If you work in the perinatal field, you deal with more sensitive details before lunch than most professionals do on a monthly basis; and let’s face it, most business people don’t know the realities of working in such an emotionally-charged, physically and spiritually demanding profession.
Andi specializes in working with practitioners like you, with your unique needs and concerns. She can help craft policies and other foundational documents for your business or nonprofit that help protect you, your clients, and our community at large.

Legal Demand Letters
If you are owed fees or have other financial issues regarding your practice, we can help you recover them – legally, but sensitively. If you don’t want your clients or colleagues to feel the “ick” that many legal demands can elicit, Your Legal Doula can help.
If you didn’t have a contract in place to protect the provider-client relationship and clarify payment terms – or even if you did, but the other person defaults – weeks may go by with unresolved payment issues. Before jumping directly to small claims court, it may be helpful to send a letter outlining what you believe is owed and why.

Protect Your Business
Are you looking at a complaint or other adverse action against your business – or your license? Andi understands the sensitive issues you may face, from scope-of-practice issues to board complaints to lawsuits.
Your practice is your livelihood, so it’s never advisable to leave legal issues to chance.
