Who is the attorney behind Your Legal Doula?
Andrea D. Orwoll, Esq. – or Andi – is a Nevada-licensed attorney (NV Bar #14596) expanding what the law can do for moms. Right now, the legal profession is only so useful for addressing the issues that mothers and families face. Wrongful terminations, medical malpractice, divorce and child custody – all of these are already areas of legal practice. But –
What about moms with everyday questions about pregnancy and the law? What about moms who want to prevent violations of their birth rights, before they happen?
Most of us encounter these. As a single mother by choice, and a professional, Andi encountered her own difficulties going through pregnancy and postpartum.
Where were the pregnancy lawyers? Where were the birth rights attorneys?
She couldn’t access one. So, she decided to become one.

Why Hire Andi?
Andi is not only an experienced attorney with over eight years in practice: Andi approaches the law – as well as pregnancy, birth, and postpartum – from an empathic, multi-disciplinary point of view. Andi is, first and foremost, a lifelong feminist and advocate for women’s rights. She brings this focused lens to all work she does in the birth rights space–and, she brings a diverse career history, with experience in multiple industries. In working as a teacher, a prosecutor, an attorney for injured employees, and in insurance defense, she has learned how various aspects of the law intersect and affect one another. And especially in complex stages of life like the perinatal period, a well-rounded advocate is a necessity.
